A currently proposed example is the gastrointestinal tract smart
pill. This smart pill includes a sampling device that takes samples for measuring, a drug reserver
and releasing system, and an intelligent sensor circuit and a controller fabricated on a silicon
wafer as well as a micro-power supply.
