Chris Van Hoof, Program Director, IMEC

Chris Van Hoof is Program Director of More than Moore SIP Systems at IMEC in Leuven. He is also Associate Department Director of Interconnect, Packaging and System Integration. He received a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Leuven in collaboration with IMEC in 1992. At IMEC, he became successively head of the detector systems group (in 1998), Director of the Microsystems Department (in 2002) and Integrated Systems Department (in 2004), and Program Director (in 2007). His research concerns several key ingredients of autonomous sensor nodes (sensor front-ends, energy scavenging) and is largely focused advanced packaging and interconnect technology (2D and 3D integration, RF-integration) and system integration. Since 2000 Chris is also a guest professor at the University of Leuven. He has authored more than 130 publications (over 70 based on peer review) and he has given over 20 invited presentations.
