Bruce Alton

Vice President, Marketing and Business Development
Micralyne Inc.

Bruce Alton was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta and in 1988 he earned his
Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Alberta.

In 2001, after several years in the consulting, software and venture capital
industries, Bruce joined Micralyne Inc. Micralyne, a spinout from the University
of Alberta, is a world leading MEMS (MicroElectroMechanicalSystems) product
development and manufacturing company.

With over 20 years of MEMS fabrication experience, Micralyne has a longstanding
track record of successful product development, commercialization and manufacturing. The firm currently manufactures, in volume, microfabricated components for the telecommunications, automotive, life sciences and other industries.

Currently, Bruce is Vice President, Marketing & Business Development and holds overall corporate responsibility for the firm’s worldwide sales, product development, marketing and communications activities. With over 175 employees, Micralyne is a growing, profitable and ISO9001: 2000 registered firm operating from a stateoftheart 50,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility with Class 10 clean rooms in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Bruce is a business and community leader with contributions to major corporate and community boards and organizations. He serves as a Governor of the MEMS Industry Group (MIG) and is on the General Advisory Council of MANCEF (Micro and Nanotechnology Commercialization Educational Foundation).

He was also Chair of the Taxation & Financing Committee of the Alberta Economic Development Authority (“AEDA”) for the Government of Alberta; member of the Board of Directors for the 2001 World Championships in Athletics; and he has also served on the boards of Economic Development Edmonton, TELUS Geomatics, other private companies, and community organizations.
